The Empty Field

Spoke a Million Words

Hundreds of children had played,

A thousand memories were made,

Yet, the field was going to go,

A new marketplace was being built,

To serve the community which had grown,

As the children grew, and as the years had flown.

The empty field spoke a million words,

Listened in silence by the stars and birds.
