Millionaires of Mind
This morning seems like a fleeting memory. The only real “now” is the present, when things can be done, changes effectively made in our work and in our lives. Our memories are all the large collection of images we carry in our minds, which have all the features of sound, smell, taste and sight. The other essential ingredient of our memories is all the feelings and emotions connected to our memories. We can have jubilant memories of our successes or we can have sad memories of losses of our loved ones.
Most of us may feel that we have poor memories, but this is not the case, as our brains are built to learn to store memories. There are now some amazing techniques to help us to remember the names of person, places and things, which make them simple to use. Use the Linking system to remember list of Items. Remember faces by using visualization, repeating names of people and by noticing any prominent features of a person. Remember numbers by using the Chunking system, the Rhyme system and the Peg system. Divide a long number into chunks in order to remember it for the “chunking” system. The rhyme system would be a rhyme created to remember a number, like the “numbers 1492 is 14 ships carrying 92 sailors over the ocean blue.” In the Peg system, each numeral from 0 to 9 represents an object. A full number would be represented by a selection of objects.
